What is Directional Drilling?
Directional drilling refers to boring into the ground that does not follow a direct vertical route down. Unlike conventional drilling, a directional driller follows any angle or series of angles off 180 degrees down. These drilling routes are carefully planned prior to the commencement of drilling.
Horizontal directional drilling is a specialised field and offers the most modern and innovative way to increase access and minimise surface disturbance – which is critical in terms of every business’s obligation in terms of cultural sensitivity and environmental impact.
